Rental terms & conditions.

To rent a vehicle you must present a valid driver's licence held for at least one year, a credit card in the main driver's name, and a valid passport or national ID. Licences issued in a non-Latin alphabet must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit.

The minimum age is 20 years for most 2WD and medium 4WD vehicles, and 23 years for larger 4×4s, premium and 9-seat vehicles. A young-driver surcharge may apply to drivers under 23.

A valid credit card in the main driver's name is required at pickup for the security deposit, which is pre-authorised and released after the vehicle is returned undamaged. Debit cards are accepted when Gold or Platinum insurance is purchased in advance.

Every rental includes Collision Damage Waiver and third-party liability with a standard excess. Optional Gold and Platinum packages reduce or remove the excess and add gravel, sand & ash, theft and glass protection. The renter remains liable for damage to the underbody, tyres, windscreen and from water crossings unless specifically covered.

Vehicles are supplied with a full tank and should be returned full. A refuelling fee plus the cost of fuel applies if the vehicle is returned with less than it left with.

All rentals include unlimited mileage on legal roads within Iceland.

Off-road driving is strictly prohibited by Icelandic law. Highland F-roads may only be driven in a suitable 4×4 and only while officially open. River crossings are at the renter's own risk and are not covered by any insurance.

Additional drivers must be registered on the rental agreement and meet the same requirements as the main driver. Only registered drivers are covered by insurance.

Bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup. Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged for one rental day. Changes are subject to availability.
